On March 5 in San Diego, Nicaraguan pound-for-pound legend and four-division king Roman ‘Chocolatito’ Gonzalez clashes with Julio Cesar Martinez, a late replacement for what was set to be a trilogy fight with Super-Flyweight rival Juan Francisco Estrada.

Martinez – WBC World Champion at Flyweight – came in after Estrada tested positive for COVID-19, stepping up a weight class to take on one of the Mexican’s idols in the sport.

Despite the threat, Chocolatito says that the decision to take on such a dangerous opponent was ‘no problem’ as he looks to line up the final few fights of his career, cementing a legacy in the final few fights he wants to clear ‘for family and country.’

Watch as we go in camp to talk legacy, March 5 and how the lower weight classes have enjoyed the spotlight in the last decade.
