On Friday, January 12, 2018, Claressa Shields was featured in the main event of the years first edition of ShoBox: The New Generation.
Shields took on fellow undefeated fighter and former champion, Tori Nelson (17-1, 2 KOs).
Shields retained her IBF and WBC Super Middleweight titles, dominating all 10 rounds against Nelson to improve to 5-0, 2 KOs.
Nelson, at 41 years of age, did not have much to offer in terms of offense, but she did show tremendous heart in extending Shields all 10 rounds and took a substantial amount of punishment along the way.
Shields plans to move back down to 160 pounds and face WBC champion Christina Hammer, who was ringside for the second consecutive Shields fight.
