Comanche Boy Comes Off Canvas to Win By Unanimous Decision

Star Boxing and Oklahoma’s popular middleweight contender, “Comanche Boy” George Tahdooahnippah (33-1-2) had to come off the canvas in the second round to score an action packed unanimous decision win over power punching Codale Ford, Friday night June 6, 2014 in XFN Fight Night 19 at the Grand Casino Hotel Resort in Shawnee, OK.
Tahdooahnippah was in command early in the first round and had Ford in trouble early. In the second round, Tahdooahnippah pressing the action, was caught by a right upper cut. Tahdooahnippah went to the canvas for the first time in his professional boxing career, but rose to his feet on unsteady legs to survive the round.
In the third round, Tahdooahnippah regained composure and had Ford hurt with thunderous shots to turn the tide of the fight. Ford somehow stayed on his feet through the onslaught of Tahdooahnippah’s power punches to make it through the third round.
The fourth and fifth rounds were close with Tahdooahnippah pressing the pace and taking control of the fight. The sixth round Tahdooahnippah and Ford battled with Tahdooahnippah again controlling the action with his ring generalship to pull out the unanimous decision win.
After the fight, Tahdooahnippah said, “Tonight was a tough night, especially in the second round. I was over confident and got hit by a shot I did not see. I knew when I was down that I was going to have to be knock out cold if I was to lose. I have never been down before, but I have the heart of a Comanche warrior. There is no quit in me!”
