Sky Sports announced this morning via Twitter that former IBF Middleweight Champion, Darren Barker is retiring due to a hip injury.

Barker won the title back in August of 2013 in an exhilarating bout against Australia’s Daniel Geale only to lose it to Felix Sturm in December.
Barker retires with a 26-2, 16 KO record.
After the announcement by Sky Sports, Barker added the following via Twitter:
Well my amazing journey has come to an end! I'm over the moon and so proud of what I was able to achieve and I retire a happy man!
