Top Featherweight prospect De’Von Abraham (3-0 2KOs) of Orange, California, who now trains at the historic King’s Boxing Gym in Oakland, CA, the gym that Andre Ward and Nonito Donaire Jr. both started from, picked up his third win on Thursday night at the Hanger in Costa Mesa, CA over Lupe Arroyo in another fan-friendly performance.
Abraham who fights at 126 lbs. fought game veteran Lupe Arroyo, who absorbed tremendous punches, but was able to go the distance with one of the heaviest punchers in the division
“I am frustrated I really wanted the knockout, but I have to give my opponent a lot of respect he took a lot of hard shots and kept coming. This is the type of fight you learn from and will make me an elite fighter since I got rounds in and I worked on things in the ring I hadn’t prior.”
The fight which was Abraham’s third on “Fight Club OC” showed off the decorated amateurs boxing ability, which saw him ranked #3 in the country before turning professional.
Abraham is looking to return to the ring in April.
“I have told people since I started boxing I wanted to fight in Southern California, which is where I am from, the Bay Area, which where I live now and Detroit, which is where my family is from. My goal is to fight in the Bay Area very soon”
