On Saturday, October 21, 2017 from Verona, NY, D’Mitrius “Big Meech” Ballard (18-0, 12 KOs) took on veteran German Meraz (11-2-2, 8 KOs) in a Light Heavyweight bout scheduled for 10 rounds.
The bout took place on the undercard of the HBO Boxing After Dark tripleheader headlined by Jezreel Corrales and Alberto Machado.
Ballard remained undefeated, earning a 10-round unanimous-decision victory over Solorio with scores of 98-92, 99-91 and 99-91.
“I give myself a C+ for this performance,” said Ballard. “Solorio came to fight, and he wasn’t just going to lay down. He was aggressive and I had moments where I had trouble adjusting to him. I need to go back to my gym and work on everything. This was a good test for me.”
