On Saturday, October 22, 2016, undefeated Golden Boy Promotions Super Middleweight prospect, D’Mitrius “Big Meech” Ballard (15-0, 11 KOs) put his unbeaten record on the line against once-beaten Hungarian opponent, Gergo Horvath (9-2-1, 5 KOs).
The bout opened up the night of action from the Bell Center in Montreal, Quebec, Canada where David Lemieux was headlining against Cristian Rios.
The DC-area standout, Ballard–who fights out of the NoXcuse Boxing Club–came out stalking Horvath in Round 1 and focusing on the body with powerful hooks. Horvath felt the power and pressure and was not inclined to fire much in return.
Ballard found success quickly in Round 2, dropping Horvath three consecutive times, en-route to a TKO victory.
Congratulations @DmitriusB on your TKO win over Horvath in the 2nd Rd! #boxing #lemieuxrios

The official stoppage came at 1:20, and although the three knockdown rule was in effect, Horvath would have had a hard time getting up for more punishment either way.
With the victory, Ballard improves to 4-0, 4 KOs in 2016.
