New York, NY (March 3, 2019) Eddie ‘E-Boy’ Gomez, (22-3-0, 12 KOs), of Bronx, NY is looking to close a deal for a cross-town showdown against former world champion Sadam ‘World Kid’ Ali,

(27-2-0, 14 KOs), of Brooklyn, NY, potentially planned for May 4 in Las Vegas, NV on the undercard of the World Middleweight Championship between Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and Daniel Jacobs at the T-Mobile Arena.

“We’re really pushing for that fight. It’s a great fight for both guys with a huge upside for the winner,” said Tim Van NewHouse of Split-T Management, manager of Gomez. “Eddie and Sadam have been circling each other for a couple of years, now they both need a big fight and their both competing at welterweight. Eddie is coming off two terrific wins last year and is primed and ready for this challenge.”

“The ball is in Ali’s court, we’re ready to roll on May 4.”

The 26-year-old Gomez knocked out the highly regarded Keandre Gibson in the second round on March 22, 2018. Following up on that victory the Honduran born Gomez won a unanimous decision over Shoko Sakai on October 18, 2018.

Ali captured the WBO Super Welterweight World Title by defeating Puerto Rican legend Miguel Cotto on December 2, 2017 at Madison Square Garden. Battling Jaime Munguia in his next bout on May 12, 2018, Ali would relinquish the title in his first defense.

Ali is coming off a dominant performance on December 15, 2018, winning a ten-round decision over Mauricio Herrera.
