Edwin Rodriguez (25-1, 16 KOs) had not fought for almost a year before his return tonight against Azea Augustama (17-1, 9KOs) at the StubHub Center in Carson, CA.
Rodriguez laded powershots at will and was dominant in an otherwise uneventful 10-round unanimous decision win.
Rodriguez won with scores of 100-90, 100-90, and 99-91.
Rodriguez also made his official debut in the Light Heavyweight decision, as he was unable to make weight forhis fight against Andre Ward, which he lost in November.
It remains to be seen if Rodriguez will be dominant in his new division, but more opportunities in the future will let us know.
