On Saturday, December 21, 2019, Errol “The Truth” Spence made a television appearance and had his first interview since his car accident.

Spence was grilled pretty hard by Brian Kenny about the accident, his injuries and the status surrounding the charge of misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.

“I don’t remember too much, but I can’t really talk about the case,” said Spence. “I’ve been advised by my lawyer because there’s still a pending case going on, so out of respect I choose not to talk about it.”

More pertinent to boxing and fans of Spence, the unified Welterweight champion spoke about his return to the ring.

“I don’t want a tuneup fight,” said Spence. “I want the top names. Whether it’s Manny Pacquiao, Terence Crawford or Danny Garcia.”

Spence initially stated that he’d be back in May or June, but later on in the interview he mentioned a summer return.

Even though Spence says he’s ready to pick up where he left off–against a top name–it would be smart to take at least one soft touch fight before taking on one of the aforementioned top dogs.

Who would you like to see Spence face in 2020?
