On Saturday, April 2, 2016, Francisco Santana scored a dominant, 10-round unanimous decision victory against Ed Paredes (36-6-1, 24 KOs) at the Oceanview Pavilion in Port Hueneme, California.
The Welterweight fight was televised on UniMas in the U.S.
Santana, of Santa Barbara, California, pushed forward from the opening bell with jabs and non-stop pressure.
Paredes, who fights out of Pembroke Pines, Florida, could not deal with Santana’s pressure, which was already causing some swelling above his right eye.
Santana continued pummeling into the later rounds and Paredes, with one eye almost shut, fought back despite being behind on the score cards.
Santana, who said this fight was one step in the right direction towards a title fight, won with three scores of 100-90.

In the co-main event, Xavier Martinez (5-0, 3 KOs) impressed with a fourth-round knockout of Gabriel Gutierrez (3-2-0, 2 KOs).
In this Welterweight battle, Martinez landed right hands all night, which culminated in a fight-finishing punch that ended matters promptly at 2:00 of Round 4.
