On Saturday, July 28, 2018, Lightweight world champions Mikey Garcia (38-0, 30 KOs), who owns the WBC strap, and Robert Easter Jr. (21-0, 14 KOs), who has the IBF title, go toe-to-toe in a 135-pound title unification bout live on Showtime from Staples Center in Los Angeles in an event presented by Premier Boxing Champions.
The three-fight Showtime Championship Boxing telecast beings at 10:00 pm, EST/7:00 pm, PST.
In the co-main event, Cuban Heavyweight slugger Luis “The Real King Kong” Ortiz returns after nearly knocking off WBC champion, Deontay Wilder, to face former title challenger Razvan Cojanu in a scheduled 10-round bout.
Opening up the televised card is unbeaten Super Lightweight sensation, Mario “El Azteca” Barrios and hard-hitting Jose Roman, who compete in a 10-round showdown.
In non-televised action, Fabian Maidana faces Andrey Klimov and the Balderas brothers–Karlos and Jose–also return to the ring in separate bouts.
