On Saturday, July 28, 2018, Lightweight world champions Mikey Garcia (38-0, 30 KOs), who owns the WBC strap, and Robert Easter Jr. (21-0, 14 KOs), who has the IBF title, go toe-to-toe in a 135-pound title unification bout live on Showtime from Staples Center in Los Angeles in an event presented by Premier Boxing Champions.

The three-fight Showtime Championship Boxing telecast beings at 10:00 pm, EST/7:00 pm, PST.

In the co-main event, Cuban Heavyweight slugger Luis “The Real King Kong” Ortiz returns after nearly knocking off WBC champion, Deontay Wilder, to face former title challenger Razvan Cojanu in a scheduled 10-round bout.

Opening up the televised card is unbeaten Super Lightweight sensation, Mario “El Azteca” Barrios and hard-hitting Jose Roman, who compete in a 10-round showdown.

In non-televised action, Fabian Maidana faces Andrey Klimov and the Balderas brothers–Karlos and Jose–also return to the ring in separate bouts.

Luis Ortiz vs. Razvan Cojanu

In the heavyweight division, Luis Ortiz (29-1, 15 KOs) dropped Razvan Cojanu en route to a second-round KO win.

Mario Barrios vs. Jose Roman

Mario Barrios captured the WBA Intercontinental welterweight title with TKO win over Jose Roman in the 8th round. Barrios dropped Roman twice en route to the victory. Roman’s corner stopped after the 8th round.

Fabian Andres Maidana vs. Andrey Klimov

Fabian Maidana (16-0, 12 KOs) defeats Andrey Klimov by way of knockout. A left hook from Maidana drops Klimov to the canvas. Klimov’s corner throws in the towel  and the fight is stopped at 2:32 of round 7.

Roberto Marroquin vs. Rey Perez

Rey Perez (23-10, 6 KOs) stops Roberto Marroquin (27-5-1, 20 KOs) in the eighth and final round. Perez was pounding Marroquin until Robert Garcia, Marroquin’s trainer, threw in the towel. Time of the stoppage was 1:03.

Brandon Glanton vs. Daniel Najera

Cruiserweight Brandon Glanton (7-0, 6 KOs) stopped Daniel Najera (7-3-1, 3 KOs) at 1:35 of round 3.

Karlos Balderas vs. Giovanni Caro 

Karlos Balders stops veteran Giovanni Caro at 2:09 of round 4 to improve to 6-0, 5 KOs. The referee stopped the bout after Balderas peppered Caro in the corner.

Luis Coria vs. Guadalupe Arroyo

Luis ‘Louie’ Coria (9-1, 4 KOs)  scores a 6-round decision over Guadalupe Arroyo (3-13). All three judges scored the bout 60-54 in favor of Coria.

Jerry Perez vs. Aaron Jamel Hollis

Jerry Perez from Los Angeles, California knocked out Aaron Jamel Hollis with a blistering left hook in Round 2. Perez dropped Hollis in the first round with the same punch.
