In a press conference held on Wednesday, Haymon Boxing announced that Danny Garcia will face Lamont Peterson in a Light Welterweight unification fight on April 11, according to multiple sources including Yahoo’s Kevin Iole via Twitter.

The fight will be televised on NBC Sports and its location has yet to be announced.
The news comes less than 24 hours after the new promotional company announced that Robert Guerrero will take on Keith Thurman on March 7 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The fight between Garcia and Peterson has been on everyone’s radar since last Spring and, after Garcia’s fight with Rod Salka last August, it seemed as if Al Haymon was getting in the way of big fights.
With these two back-to-back announcements, however, it seems that Al Haymon was just waiting for the right time–a chance to showcase these fights on a larger network.
