Key #2 for Gabriel Rosado Your Experience is Key!
By Gabriel Polanco
Gabriel Rosado hasn’t had the easiest of roads in his career. Having eight losses in your career doesn’t seem like the ideal record of a fighter headlining an HBO event, but it also shows the experience Rosado has. He has fought two world champions in his career, while David Lemieux has fought none.
Rosado has fought late into fights, ended fights early and ended them late–he’s fought them all. Being from Philly, Rosado is mentored by Philly legend Bernard Hopkins and trained by Hall of Fame trainer Jesse Reid.
In a battle of experience versus skill, a smart one will always lean toward the one with experience. I expect Rosado to take Lemieux’s best shots early, take him to deep waters late and drown him.
Key #2 for David Lemieux If You Cut Him, Aim for the Cut
By Gabe Rivas
Another scary factor about David Lemieux is that he is actually fairly smart in the ring.
Here he is with trainer Russ Anbar going over the jab in a video for Rival Boxing.
Lemeiux demonstrates his ring intelligence with a quick jab and in the way he punches around his opponent’s guard when throwing combinations.
His aim, needless to say, is precise and if he sees Gabriel Rosado leaking, he’ll aim for the kill.
This fight is a tossup for some people because Rosado has demonstrated that he can take a punch and that he has the boxing skills to effectively fight on the outside.
Nevertheless, a big factor is Rosado’s scar tissue and in a fight with someone like Lemieux, he’s bound to get cut and Lemieux will need to jump at the opportunity.
