After Danny Garcia was “forced to relinquish” his WBC strap, a fight between Lucas Matthysse and Viktor Postol was ordered by the WBC.

Soon after, according to an article by ESPN.com’s Dan Rafael, talks began for a possible fight between the two camps for a possible fight in the fall.

“The talks have started. We’re hoping to put the fight together this fall. We’re talking to HBO about the fight,” De La Hoya said in the article.

When asked about facing the winner of the proposed fight, Herrera said that he felt it was his time and that he hopes it happens.

The 35-year-old native of Lake Elsinore, California also stated that despite not watching much of Postol, he gives Matthysse the edge as he is an all-around fighter with power and skill.

A fight between the two would not be a hassle to make as a fight with Peterson would because both are promoted by Golden Boy.
