Jan Salvatierra Hopes to Close Tough Year with a Bang in Cabos San Lucas

Despite a tough year for the boxing world, Westside Boxing‘s Jan Salvatierrra hopes to end it positively on Dec. 19.

It goes without saying that 2020 has been a tough year for everyone.

But luckily for Westside Boxing’s Jan Salvatierra (5-0, 2 KOs), he’ll have a chance to end the year on a positive note in front of a hometown crowd.

Indeed, this Saturday, December 19, Salvatierra will face Jahary Martinez (0-3) in his first six round fight, which is scheduled to take place in the super flyweight division.

“I’m very happy and excited to be fighting again after so much time off. It’s a real privilege during these times, and I’m going to take advantage of this opportunity,” said Salvatierra to RBRBoxing.com

The bout will take place in Cabos San Lucas in Mexico, and it will be streamed live for free on Facebook on Los Cabos TV.

Salvatierra, 21, is a native of Los Cabos, Mexico, but he recently moved to Los Angeles, California to train under Jose and Nacho Saucedo, best known as the Saucedo Brothers.

Under their tutelage and working with the other rising prospects of the Westside Boxing Club, Salvatierra is developing into a promising young prospect.

He even had the chance to fight on two of Golden Boy’s cards in October 2019 and February of this year, one of the last events they had before the pandemic.

As we all know, the pandemic has been the biggest aspect of what appears to be a never-ending year filled with bad luck.

Salvatierra, however, hopes to end the year positively by participating in one of the final cards of the year.

“Like always, I will leave everything in the ring like I always have. With my team Westside Boxing, we’re going to make sure we’re ready for a great 2021.”
