On Saturday, December 1, 2018, Jarrett Hurd took on Jason Welborn in a scheduled 12-round bout which served as the co-main event for the Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury Heavyweight championship bout.
Hurd, who mentioned all week that he wanted to show his “Swift” boxing skills, took a while to warm up and even had some moments where he was eating flush shots on the ropes from Welborn.
But once he got warmed up it wasn’t too long before Welborn was doubled over on the canvas.

After the fight, Jermell Charlo stepped into the ring to hype up a potential future matchup with Hurd. Both men argued a bit, but agreed that they each want to fight each other.
Hurd did state that he wants one homecoming fight before a mega matchup against Charlo takes place.
If Hurd and Charlo happens in 2019, who wins?
