Konstantin Ponomarev remains undefeated as he scored a tough unanimous-decision win over Scott Clagget.
Ponomarev (27-0, 13 KOs) had an impressive first two rounds until Clagget (20-3-1, 14 KOs) decided to bring the fight after Round 3.
Ponomarev had good lateral movement early on, forcing Clagget to follow him around. Clagget finally stepped on the gas, touching up Ponomarev with the jab and causing his right eye to swell.
With just a few seconds left in the final round, Clagget almost pulled out an upset stunning Ponomarev against the ropes.
Giving Ponomarev more than he anticipated is a victory within itself, but that just wasn’t enough according to judges scorecards.
The official scores read 77-75 twice and 78-74.
