Saturday, March 29, 2014, HBO Boxing After Dark showcased an exciting double-header of action with Sergey Kovalev vs. Cedric Agnew and Karim Mayfield vs. Thomas Dulorme.
In the main event, Kovalev put his WBO title on the line against the unknown challenger from Chicago in Agnew.
Agnew put up a good, tough fight, but Kovalev was able to break him down over seven rounds with precise body work.
Even though Kovalev suffered two cuts from headbutts and was low blowed more than once, he was able to stay focused and walked Agnew down, scoring three knockdowns in the process.
The official KO came at 58 seconds into the seventh round.
In the post-fight interview with Max Kellerman, Kovalev was asked about Adonis Stevenson to which Kovalev said the following:

The first fight between Mayfield and Dulorme had already gotten off to an exciting start at Friday’s weigh-in with both men trying to choke each other during the customary stare down.
The 10-round bout ended up being a lot of holding and smothering, mixed with some low blows in between.
Mayfield was visibly rocked a few times early on, but did more towards the end as his trainer Virgil Hunter urged him to give it his all.
Mayfield did land a few big shots which made Dulorme uncomfortable, but ultimately it was not enough as the judges awarded Dulorme a unanimous-decision victory.
Final scores were 98-92, 97-94 and 96-94.
