In the opening televised bout of the Tuesday, March 28, 2017 edition of PBC’s Toe-To-Tuesday’s card on FS1 from Robinson Rancheria & Casino in Nice, CA, Middleweight prospect Malcolm McAllister held on with a unanimous decision win.
The official scores were 58-55, 58-55 and 58-55 as McAllister improved to 9-0, 8 KOs with the victory over Alejandro Torres 9-3-2, 4 KOs).
As McAllister failed to bring home a knockout victory for the first time in his young career, his team might go away happy with the lesson he learned in the final round.
You saw the difference in talent early on with McAllister controlling the fight with his jab and throwing straight rights that didn’t find a hard time connecting.
Torres showed flashes, landing a few flush right and left hooks here and there, but that was more of a factor of McAllister being lazy with his hands down.
As it showed, Torres looked like he really couldn’t hurt McAllister all night, until Torres caught McAllister with his hands down and landed a vicious left hook that sent the undefeated fighter down in the sixth and final round.
As McAllister took the eight count and wobbled up with 2:03 remaining, the young fighter was able to hold on in the final minutes and secure the victory.
Almost disaster for Malcolm McAllister who got dropped hard in the final round.. but he holds on to defeat Alejandro Torres. #Boxing pic.twitter.com/52tg4WicXj
