On Saturday, July 1, 2017, 2012 bronze medal Olympian, Michael Conlan (3-0, 3 KOs) took on Jarrett Owen (5-5-3, 2 KOs) in the second bout of the ESPN televised portion of the Manny Pacquiao vs. Jeff Horn “Battle of Brisbane” card.

The 25-year-old Conlan, who is a native of Belfast and is one of Top Rank‘s newest fighters, switched to southpaw early on as he toyed with the 31-year-old Brisbane native.

By Round 2, Conlan began cracking Owen to the body, which visibly had the Aussie gasping for air.

In Round 3, Conlan poured on a steady dose of hooks to the body as Owen retreated and curled up against the ropes, forcing the referee to step in at 1:56.

Conlan earned his third stoppage in as many fights and looks to continue building his name in Super Bantamweight division.
