They talked the talk and on Saturday, November 3, the time to throw down came for Miguel Berchelt and Miguel Roman.
The fight, presented by Top Rank, took place at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas and streamed live on ESPN+.
After each man demanded the fight, they got exactly the stylistic matchup they were hoping for–a throwback all-Mexican battle that included big blows and knockdowns.
Berchelt successfully made the fourth defense of his WBC Super Featherweight title against Roman who was game, but overmatched and suffered three knockdowns before being stopped in Round 9.
