According to Dan Rafael of ESPN.com, Miguel Cotto has been offered over $10 million to fight Canelo Alvarez in March.
Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer told ESPN, “We had a really nice meeting and talked about a bunch of different things. We also talked about the fighters that our companies promote together.”
Cotto is in a great position and can maximize his profits by deciding to fight Canelo in March and perhaps Sergio Martinez or someone in the Top Rank stable later on in 2014.
We will have more information regarding Cotto’s decision as it becomes available.
