On Saturday, May 28, 2016, former Lightweight titlist Miguel Vasquez (36-5, 13 KOs) scored a unanimous decision victory against Erick Bone (16-4, 8 KOs) in a Super Lightweight fight at the Cowboys Dance Hall in San Antonio, Texas.

The 12-round fight was televised on Fox Sports .

Vasquez brought a more aggressive style to his fight tonight, whereas previously he was defensive minded and sleep inducing.

Tonight, Vasquez engaged with Bone several times, and although he was moving up in weight, Vasquez seemed to land the harder shots.

Vasquez was previously a champion at Lightweight until losing to Mickey Bey in 2014.

All three judges scored the fight 99-91, 97-93 and 96-94 for Vasquez.

Also on the card was Brandon Figueroa, the younger brother of Omar Figueroa, who scored a fifth-round KO over Jonell Nieves.

Miguel Flores scored a decision win against Ruben Tamayo. The scores were 98-92, 98-92 and 100-90–all for Flores.
