On the untelevised undercard of the Featherweight showdown between Nicholas Walters and Miguel Marriaga, Mike Reed (15-0, 8 KOs) scored a 10-round unanimous decision victory over Luis Joel Gonzalez (11-1-1, 6 KOs) at the Madison Square Garden Theater in New York.
Reed was workmanlike with his approach, walking Gonzalez down with a high guard and short jab, before landing combination punches to Gonzalez’ body.
Reed won with scores of 80-72, 80-72 and 80-73.
The 20-year-old native of Waldorf, Maryland continues his undefeated streak, while Gonzalez suffers the second loss of his career.
