Part two of the Superfly fight card took place this Saturday night, opening with a title bout between IBF Flyweight champion Donnie Nietes (41-1, 23 KOs) and Argentine challenger Juan Carlos Reveco (39-4, 19 KOs).

With a display of masterful boxing abilities, Nietes made easy work of Reveco.

The Filipino champion fought every round with precision and tattooed Reveco with calculated combinations in virtually every round.

In the first defense of his IBF title, Nietes displayed supreme veteran confidence that was never broken by the challenger. Without being able to establish his presence in the ring, it began to seem clear early on that Reveco was just overmatched.

After taking a beating for 6 rounds, one could only hope the onslaught of punches would be stopped by either the Reveco corner or the referee before causing any serious damage.

At just 53 seconds into the 7th round, Reveco would find himself on the canvas and was luckily spared any further damage when the referee had seen enough and called a halt to the action.

With the win, Nietes tallied another knockout win to his already impressive resume. “I want the biggest fights either at this weight or to move up,” said Nietes.

“There has been talk of me fighting ‘Chocolatito’ next, that’s a fight I want. I’d also like to fight the winner of ‘Sor Rungvisai/Estrada.”

Nietes now puts himself in a very comfortable position in the division and will likely look to unify with one of the other champions unless one of the Super Flyweight bouts come to fruition.
