Dan Rafael of ESPN is reporting that Nonito Donaire has been offered a date in November on HBO.

Cameron Dunkin–Donaire’s manager–would like The Filipino Flash to face Vic Darchinyan in a rematch of their 2007 clash. This bout is one that the aging Armenian fighter would like as well.

The not so surprising twist in all of this is that Donaire’s conqueror, Guillermo Rigondeaux, has not been offered a date on HBO.

In fact, according to Rafael, Top Rank head honcho Bob Arum says “Every time I mention him [Rigondeaux], they [HBO] throw up.”

Rigondeaux put on a boxing clinic versus Donaire. But after the fight, many fans took to the internet to complain about the Cuban’s “running” style.

Regardless of if you’re a fan of El Chacal’s or not, most people can agree that a rematch versus Donaire is one of the best bouts that can be made for him.

Seeing as how HBO is not interested in televising Rigondeaux’s bouts, this could mean that Arum is going to be forced to move on and pit Donaire against more engaging-style fighters, starting with Darchinyan.
