DEL MAR, CALIF. (May 7, 2014) – Originally scheduled to square off on April 26, rising star Antonio “Relentless” Orozco and Mexican veteran Martin Honorio will finally get their chance to take care of business in the ring when they meet in the main event of the special edition of “Ringside at Del Mar” on Thursday, May 15 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in Del Mar, Calif. in the Golden Boy Live! FOX Sports 1 and FOX Deportes broadcast.

The previously announced main event fight between Manuel “Tino” Avila and David “Morita” De La Mora will now be featured in the 10-round junior featherweight co-feature and opening the telecast will be the six-round bantamweight bout between Paramount’s Manuel “Suavecito” Roman and Merida’s Jose “Cacho” Silveira.

San Diego’s Antonio “Relentless” Orozco (19-0, 15 KOs) has been making a steady, yet spectacular rise up the junior welterweight ladder, with his power earning him plenty of respect from his peers. Currently on a seven-fight knockout streak, the 26-year-old Mexican standout is coming off of a second-round finish over Miguel Angel Huerta on January 24. Now he looks to impress his local family and friends in next Thursday’s Golden Boy Live! main event.

Perhaps the biggest test of Orozco’s career, Mexico City’s Martin “El Brochas” Honorio (32-8-1, 16 KOs) is a former USBA, NABF and NABO Champion who has fought the best in the game for years, with notable victories over former World Champion Steve Luevano, Giovanni Andrade and John Molina and most recently had a great fight against Argentina’s power-puncher Lucas Matthysse. Winner of three of his last five fights, Honorio wants to stop Orozco’s rise by any means necessary.

Also featured on the card will be some of San Diego’s top talent looking to continue building their fan bases in their young careers. Lakeside’s talented middleweight Elias “Latin” Espadas (5-1, 3 KOs) will face Jamal Harris (5-7-4, 3 KOs) of Los Angeles in a four round battle, Vista’s featherweight Roque “Rocky” Ramos (4-0-1, 1 KO) will take on Phoenix’s Misael Chacon (1-2) in a four round junior lightweight bout, Ricky Gutierrez (2-1-1, 1 KO) of San Marcos will square off in a four round lightweight fight against Devonte Donaldson (1-5) of Gardena. Rounding out the card will be San Diego featherweight Prince “Tiger” Smalls (4-0-1) taking on Tijuana’s Victor Serrano (2-3) and in separate four round bouts, Jorge “Tito” Ruiz (6-1, 2 KOs) of Chula Vista and Lancaster junior middleweight Tevin Watts (2-0-1), taking on opponents to be announced shortly.
