Bantamweight hopeful Antonio Russell (3-0, 2 KOs) squared off with Puerto Rican rival Jaxel Marrero (1-6-1, 0 KOs).
The quick-fisted southpaw Russell kept the proper distance to display some rapid fire combinations for the first two rounds and elected to fight more on the inside in Round 3, landing a solid combination to the head at the bell.
Neither man was lacking in activity in the fourth and final round. Both wrangled for the proper angle to let loose a volley to turn the fight to their advantage as the bell rang concluding the action.
The final bell sounded before either could do so and the fight went to the cards. The decision was announced and Russell was awarded the unanimous decision.
