On November 12, 2016, Luis Ortiz took on Malik Scott in a 12-round Heavyweight for the vacant WBA Inter-Continental heavyweight title at the Hall of Stars (Salle des Étoiles) in Monte Carlo, Monaco.

The 12-round fight was televised on HBO in the U.S.

In the co-main event, Jamie McDonnell took on Liborio Solis in a 12-round fight for McDonnell’s version of the WBA Bantamweight title.

Also on the card are Jason Sosa and Martin Murray.

Ortiz scored a 12-round UD victory in a lackluster match. Ortiz won with scores of 120-105, 120-106 and 119-106.

Ortiz scored three knockdowns. The first two seemed as if Scott was trying to take a dive, while the third knockdown was legitimate, caused by a counter left hand to the body.

Jamie McDonnell vs. Liborio Solis, 12 rounds, for McDonnell’s WBA “regular” bantamweight title

McDonnell scored a tough and close unanimous decision victory against Solis. McDonnell won with scores of 116-112, 115-113, and 117-111.

Jason Sosa vs. Stephen Smith, 12 rounds, for Sosa’s WBA “regular” junior lightweight title

Sosa retained a version of the WBA crown with a hard-earned unanimous decision victory. Sosa won with scores of 117-110, 116-112, and 116-111.

Martin Murray vs. Nuhu Lawal, 12 rounds, super middleweights

Murray scored a unanimous decision victory against Lawal. Murray won with scores of 117-110, 117-110, and 116-111, though he was deducted a point in Round 12 for leading with his head.

Adriani Vastine vs. Antonio Di Mario

Vastine scored a unanimous decision victory against Di Mario.
