On Saturday, October 15, 2016, Tony Bellew (26-2-1, 17 KOs) made the first defense of his WBC Cruiserweight title against B.J. Flores (32-2-1, 20 KOs) at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, United Kingdom.
The scheduled 12-round fight headlined a night of action that was televised on Sky Sports in the U.K. from a card that is promoted by Matchroom Boxing.
Also on the card were Luke Campbell and Ryan Burnett, who both fought in separate, 12-round fights.
