On September 26, 2015, Deontay Wilder (34-0, 33 KOs) put his WBC Heavyweight title against Johann Duhaupas (32-2, 20 KOs) in a 12-round fight at the Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama.
The fight headlined a PBC on NBC card, and was promoted by DiBella Promotions.
Also on the card was Middleweight prospect Terrell Gausha, along with Heavyweight up-and-comer Dominic Breazeale.

Wilder stopped Duhaupas in Round 11.
Duhaupas came forward early, but Wilder soon began to control the fight with his reach and length.
By the later rounds, Duhaupas was not event responding, and eventually forced referee Jack Reiss to stop the fight after taking a series of unanswered uppercuts.
Dominic Breazeale vs. Fred Kassi, 10 rounds, Heavyweights;
Breazeale scored a unanimous decision win over Kassi.
Breazeale started slowly as usually, and even ate some left hands before finding his rhythm and controlling the fight.
Breazeale hurt Kassi a few times, but was unable to finish Kassi. The scores were 97-93, 98-92, and 100-90 for Breazeale.
Charles Martin vs. Vicente Sandez, 10 rounds, Heavyweights
Martin scored a third-round KO win.
Terrell Gausha vs. Eliezer Gonzalez, 8 or 10 rounds, Junior Middleweights
Gausha scored a unanimous decision win over Gonzalez. The scores were 78-72, 77-73., 77-73.
Bryant Perrella vs. Patrick Boozer, 8 rounds, Welterweights
Perella stopped Boozer in Round 5. The time of the stoppage was 2:28.
Mario Barrios vs. Eduardo Rivera, 8 rounds, Junior Lightweights
Barrios stopped Rivera in Round 1.
Andrzej Wawrzyk vs. Mike Sheppard, 10 rounds, Heavyweights
Derrick Murray vs. Micah Branch, 6 rounds, Featherweights
Murray scored a UD win over Branch. The scores were 60-54, 60-54 and 60-54 for Branch.
Kenny McNeil vs. Taronze Washington, 6 rounds, Middleweights
