In the opening bout of the Friday, January 12, 2018 edition of Showtime’s popular ShoBox: The New Generation, Shohjahon Ergashev dominated Sonny Fredrickson en-route to a third round stoppage win.
Ergashev, not known to many boxing fans in the United States or even the commentators, started quickyl and showed a powerful straight left hand which caught Fredrickson’s attention early.
Ergashev was able to rough Fredrickson up throughout the first two rounds before really hurting the fighter from Toledo in Round 3.
After being staggered and backed up against the ropes, referee Benji Esteves mercifully called a stop to the fight.
With the win, Ergashev moves to 12-0, 12 KOs and will certainly be an up-and-coming fighter to watch progress in 2018.
