The August 2 edition of Friday Night Fights was certainly not the most entertaining–aside from the Super Bowl “black out” moment.
The night started with Kermit Cintron returning to the ring in a sloppy, illegal-blow filled bout versus Jonathan Batista.
In the main event, Javier Fortuna did his best Sergio Martinez impersonation and appeared to do enough to win the bout over Luis Franco.
But, the judges saw it multiple ways, officially scoring the bout a draw.
Final scores were 99-91 for Franco, 96-94 for Fortuna, and 95-95 even.

seeing some people tweet that Franco got robbed and others that Fortuna got robbed.. so the draw would make sense then #boxing #FNF

It looks like I picked a good night to go out instead of staying in to watch FNF lol

I can't even be mad at the judges tonight. That fight was borderline atrocious #boxing #FNF

I think #FNF has had actually had a very good 2013. 2Nite,though, was absolute, utter garbage.Worst thing in OK since the Dust Bowl #boxing

A fight between Russell Jr. and Fortuna would be fantastic. Know why? Both have some very glaring flaws/weaknesses the other could exploit.

Neither Russell nor Fortuna are perfect fighters. Far from it. But stylistically, they mesh for a hard to pick fight that could be great.
