This fight has a lot of potential to be fan friendly. Terence Crawford is defending his WBO title a second time against the pugnacious journeyman, Hank Lundy.
Lundy has considerable fighting ability, but his record isn’t a true indication of his talent because of a few controversial decisions. While Lundy’s athleticism is a factor, he holds only an advantage in experience over the longer and younger champion, Crawford.
Lundy’s best suited by jumping on Crawford right away and making the fight ugly. If Lundy can stay inside the pocket, where he’s demonstrated solid ability in past fights, he can negate Crawford’s jab and reach advantage.
Crawford is going to try to maintain his distance working behind his jab, and then switch southpaw to confuse and exploit Lundy. While Crawford is known for slow starts and scaling back his aggression sporadically, he’s a highly skilled opportunist.
With Lundy’s penchant to rest on the ropes, Crawford’s ability to cut off the ring while throwing accurate and heavy punches could mean open season on Lundy.
Also, based on how Crawford went after Jean in his last defense, I don’t think insulting Crawford’s girlfriend was the smartest move for Lundy. Crawford by late-round stoppage.

I am so high on Terence Crawford right now. He has all the tools, in all the right areas of boxing.
I think Hank Lundy will undoubtedly be a great test for Crawford. I can’t see Crawford knocking Lundy out, but I can see him out boxing him to a decision victory.
Lundy is a tough guy with a lot of power, I take nothing away from him, Crawford is just so unbelievably talented.

Hank Lundy talks a world-championship game. The problem is that he rarely–if ever–is able to back that talk up in the ring against top-level competition.
Terence Crawford is top-level competition.
The only variable here that might make things interesting is if Crawford is off his game on fight night because of all the shit talking that’s been going on.
“He’s in his head” is something that is tossed around a lot in sports and it remains to be seen if Lundy’s trash talk has distracted Crawford to the point that he throws the game plan out the window and simply goes in looking for a knockout.
I’m still sticking with Crawford’s youth, size and skills to carry him to victory because at the end of the day I think he’s one of the top five best fighters in the world.
