Vasyl Lomachenko verses unknown opponent Romulo Koasicha. It is pretty obvious that Koasicha has never faced an opponent like Lomachenko and will be in over his head with this fight.

This fight is merely to keep Lomachenko active until a better suited opponent steps up to fight him and the rest of division stops running from him. Kudos to Koasicha for taking the fight but he will be knocked out.

Hopefully Lomachenko will face unified junior featherweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux next and they can unify the titles in 2016. For now, Lomachenko and the rest of the world is forced to settle for unknown challenger Romulo Koasicha.

Prediction: Lomachenko

Vasyl Lomachenko is a phenomenal talent, and hopefully he’s in a meaningful fight before too much longer. This is not one of them. Loma by KO.

Romulo Koasicha is no ham and egger. Vasyl Lomachenko (4-1, 2 KOs) has only five professional fights compared to Koasicha’s (25-4, 15 KO) 29.

Unfortunately for Koasicha, it’s not a battle of professional experience. I’m not sure if fighting in the states for the first time will be an issue for Koasicha, he’s only fought outside of Mexico once in his career.

What will be an issue for him is Lomachenko’s superior boxing ability. If Koasicha is to have any chance at all, it centers around his ability to unleash a shock-and-awe body assault early and often. He must pound to the body like a drum to slow down Lomachenko.

I’m looking for Lomachenko to win by unanimous decision and simply outclass and outhustle his way to win number five.

Prediction: Lomachenko

Even Vasyl Lomachenko admitted to knowing diddly squat about Romulo Koasicha; so why would any of us?

The obscure Koasicha is taking a major step up after winning four consecutive fights. He was chosen because he’s a “come-forward aggressive type” and the list of opponents for Lomachenko was a short one (after negotiations with Guillermo Rigondeaux fell apart) and getting shorter.

So be prepared for another showcase (perhaps a string of them), much like the one we got on the Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao undercard–where Lomachenko is on display against a non-threatening/incapable opponent, who stylistically plays to Lomachenko’s strengths.

Prediction: Lomachenko
