After much hoopla and an unusual amount of whining from boxing writers (insert sarcasm), Boxing Scene broke the news earlier tonight that Al Haymon‘s first NBC card will feature Keith Thurman (24-0, 21 KOs) vs. Robert Guerrero (32-2-1, 18 KOs) as well as John Molina (27-5, 22 KOs) vs. Adrien Broner (29-1, 22 KOs).
For boxing fans who have complained about Haymon’s match making in the past–including myself–I invite you to shut up and enjoy the moment. These fights are two legitimate matchups which could provide some great action.
Oh, and did I mention they are on NBC?
Haymon Boxing is scheduled to hold a press conference on Wednesday morning, January 14, 2015. Haymon’s team will be joined by executives from the NBC Sports Group, who will help to officially announce the NBC boxing series.
To take a page from your favorite fighters playbook, I’d like to thank Al Haymon.
Another question I hope is asked tomorrow , will fighters who appear on NBC be exclusive to that network? #boxing
