On November 7, 2015, Vasyl Lomachenko (5-1, 3 KOs) successfully defended his WBO Featherweight title with a one-sided drubbing of Romulo Koasicha (25-5, 15 KOs).

Lomachenko worked the head and body with ease throughout the bout as HBO’s three-man team of Jim Lampley, Roy Jones and Max Kellerman drooled over what they deemed a masterful performance.

Lomachenko no doubt did what he had to do against an overmatched opponent, eventually stopping Koasicha with a series of well-placed body shots.

After the fight, Koacsicha acknowledged that Lomachenko’s body work was what did him in.

“He’s fast, clever and tricky,” said Koasicha. “He’s hard to fight. He never hurt me to my head, but he hurt me bad to the body.”

After the stoppage victory, Lomachenko expressed his desire to unify the titles in his division, a feat which may be hard to accomplish with the current political landscape.

“I was having a good time. I knew the finish would be a body shot, but I didn’t know which side,” said Lomachenko. “I want to unify all the titles. I want every title belt in my division.”

While Roy Jones would have you believe that Lomachenko is the No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world, the current question should be is the two-time Olympic gold medal winner the best fighter in the Featherweight division?

Let us know your thoughts on Lomachenko’s performance and who he should face next.
