Omar Narvaez will probably never catch on outside of his home country of Argentina, but there’s no disputing that he’s the class of the 115 pound division.

The 38-year-old Narvaez continued to roll on Saturday night, stopping grizzled veteran Hiroyuki Hisataka in ten rounds to register the eighth successful defense of his WBO junior bantamweight title at Gimnasio Municipal N° 1 in his hometown of Trelew, Chubut, Argentina. Referee Julio Cesar Alvarado stopped the bout at the 1:26 mark, as Hisataka absorbed punishment along the ropes after being rendered defenseless by Narvaez’s crippling body assault.
