On Saturday, May 21, 2016, Jermall Charlo defended his IBF title with a close, but unanimous decision victory over Austin Trout.
Charlo’s No. 1 mandatory challenger, Julian “J-Rock” Williams, was ringside to watch the fight and spoke with Showtime’s Brian Custer before the bout.
Williams predicted that Charlo would defeat Trout and also admitted that he preferred a bout with the younger, undefeated fighter.
