Somebody’s 0 had to go between Vladimir Shishkin (9-0, 6 KOs) and Ulises Sierra (15-1-2, 9 KOs). The two met in the main event at the WinnaVegas Casino & Resort, in Sloan Iowa.
The contest started off slow between the two as they came out pretty cautious. Sierra in particular, threw little to no punches throughout the contest, while Shishkin pressed the action.
The first half of the bout was mostly competitive, while the second half was a complete wash. As the contest began to come to an end, it was truly surprising to see Sierra still on his feet.
He was completely gassed and had pretty much nothing left in the tank. Instead of going down to the body, Shishkin went head hunting but had little to no success.
The action was sparse throughout but when the final bell rang at the end of the tenth round, there would be no surprises as to who would win.
One judge scored every single round in the favor of Shishkin 100-90 while the two remaining judges scored it 99-91.
Final Grade For Vladimir Shishkin: C+
Vladimir Shishkin won every single round but it just was not impressive. The contest lacked any true drama.
If this was the sort of contest that Shishkin was hoping to crossover to the main stream media than he failed.
He did pick up the win, but he did not make a name for himself in the process.
