Everyone will have their own opinion about who will win a bout between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.

You can check out wetten.com for more info about this hugely anticipated bout, but for now, let’s take a look at what kinds of odds are currently on offer for what’s looking like the biggest boxing match of 2021.

The overarching theme is that all bookies have Tyson Fury down to be the winner of this epic contest. Some sites have Fury’s odds of winning down as low as 1.44. The WBC champion Fury will have to be at his best to beat Joshua, but the Gypsy King is looking determined to win the biggest fight in British boxing history.

It’s been nearly a year since Fury beat Deontay Wilder by technical knockout. As such, it’s hard to say whether Fury has managed to stay fully in shape in the intervening months. But the long-overdue bout against Joshua is surely set to be yet another crowning achievement in Fury’s illustrious boxing career.

However, that’s not to say that Anthony Joshua is a no-hoper. The majority of online bookmakers appear to have Joshua on odds of around 2.40 to score a victory against Fury. Joshua is currently the WBO, IBF and WBA world heavyweight champion, and he’ll be facing a real challenge in Fury. The 31-year old  put in a knockout performance to beat Kubrat Pulev after being away from the ring for over 12 months.

While there were some questions about Joshua’s skill after that initial defeat by Andy Ruiz Jr. in Jun 2019, it’s already looking like he’s bounced back and ready for more. The Pulev bout was a case in point and it’s easy to see how Joshua could continue his hugely impressive heavyweight boxing record.

So how are the bookies predicting that this fight will be won? The lowest odds that you’re going to find are that Fury wins by a decision or technical decision. Following this, most bookmakers think that Fury winning by a KO, TKO or a disqualification is the next most likely outcome.

Interestingly, most betting sites are predicting that Joshua has a much better chance of winning by a KO, TKO or disqualification compared to winning by a technical decision. The key thing is that this bout is widely expected to produce a clear winner. Most bookies are offering odds of around 23.00 for there to be a draw.

Of course, there’s many more ways to bet on boxing than just betting on the overall winner. We’ve seen a few bookies starting to put on odds about whether Fury or Joshua will get knocked down. Interestingly these betting sites have given both fighters an equal chance of getting knocked down should this fight eventually take place.

In terms of which round this bout could get won in, it looks like most bookies are predicting that Fury will win in the second half of the match. The fact that the next most popular bet is that Joshua could win in rounds one to six suggests that many people think that Joshua is going to go in strong in this bout.

Some bookmakers also have odds about whether the Joshua vs Fury fight will go the distance. While these are both heavy-hitters, the bout is expected to be so evenly matched that the prevailing odds suggest that the fight between Joshua and Fury will last the distance. This means that you might not get much from your bets by betting either to win on points. Just so you know, you’re looking at getting odds of around 26.00 for this fight to be over in the first round.

The one thing that we do know is that it’s currently looking very unlikely that this epic bout will be held in the UK. This is because the nation’s current COVID-19 crowd restrictions have made it impossible to host the Fury-Joshua fight in the UK this summer.

As a result, it’s looking much more likely that the heavyweight fight will get held in the Middle East. While much is expected to change as the world gets to grips with the pandemic, it’s hoped that the bout between Fury and Joshua will finally take place either in June or 2021. All of which will reveal the true value of those boxing odds.
