On Saturday, November 26, 2022, Yokasta Valle showed out and proved she is the best in a 10-round majority decision victory win over Evelyn Bermudez to win the IBF and WBO Junior Flyweight titles.

The official scores were 95-95, 99-91 and 97-93 in favor of Valle.

In what could’ve been a fight of the night contender, Valle and Bermudez slugged it out for all 10 rounds.

Bermudez definitely held her own as she came out hot with a right hook that was flying all over the place. She was also very aggressive in the middle rounds when Valle was suffering from fatigue.

The fourth round is where Bermudez seemed to have taken an advantage, but the last 10 seconds of the round proved Valle had much left in the tank as she exchanged brutal hooks with Bermudez.

Valle put on a masterful performance in the second half of the fight, where she showed her lightning quick hands. Valle’s left hook left Bermudez stunned in the seventh and from there she took off, keeping her foot on the pedal, which eventually led to her taking the majority decision.

Amado Vargas Wins

Earlier on the card, Amado Vargas earned his fifth win by unanimous decision against Osmar Olmos Hernández. If the Vargas name sounds familiar, it should, he’s the son of former world champion Fernando Vargas, and part of the Vargas dynasty which includes his brother Fernando Jr. and Emiliano.

“I dropped them in the first round, and I hurt my right hand, so it made me box the rest of the way,” said Vargas about his first round knockdown of Hernández.
