Floyd Mayweather Jr. took some time out to speak on his future plans before the BET Awards and somewhat surprisingly confirmed that his next foe will be Marcos Maidana in September.
The fight itself is not so surprising because Maidana fought Mayweather tough in May of this year, leaving many boxing fans clamoring for a rematch.
What is surprising is the way that Mayweather announced his plans. Usually, there is a big production involved in announcing his next opponent, similar to how LeBron James decided to announce where we was taking his talents to a few years back.
Mayweather also mentioned that next May he will have a “Big surprise.”
Will that surprise be Manny Pacquiao, Amir Khan or someone else?
