Ranking Lucas Matthysse’s 3 Most Devastating Knockouts

Ahead of his the Lucas Matthysse vs. Viktor Postol clash on October 3, RBRBoxing‘s Brent Herrin takes a look at three of the most devastating knockouts in Matthysse’s career.

1. Lucas Matthysse vs. Mike Dallas Jr.

The most devastating knockout victory for Lucas Matthysse came on January 26, 2013, when he dispatched Mike Dallas Jr. in the final minute of the opening round.

Matthysse landed a savage counter right that immediately put Dallas Jr. to sleep, and sent him face-first to the canvas.

Robert Byrd began counting, but stopped short when he realized it would take more than 10 seconds for Dallas Jr. to wake up.

This awarded Matthysse his 31st knockout in 33 professional fights, and proved he was a force to be reckoned with in the super lightweight division.
